Henry Morgan the captain

The guy Henry Morgan was one of the best well known buccaneers that everyone must have heard. Not only from the alcohol commercials that a lot of people must have heard from. However, Henry Morgan was one of England’s successful and notorious privateers and also captured Panama and burned it down too. Henry Morgan was in Panama once because he had to get Spanish prisoners from Cuba and decided to go to Panama. It led to him evacuating panama because of a large ransom that was paid for him to leave.

As you know from the history of buccaneers they do not like Spaniards. They do not like the Spaniards because they had to leave their homeland because the Spaniards invaded them and forced them to leave and ever since that day they were furious with the Spaniards. So Henry Morgan heard about that there were Spaniards in Panama and there were roughly about fifteen hundred infantry and Calvary. So since buccaneers hated the Spaniards they went ahead to fight them because for revenge basically.

Henry Morgan was very strategic and he split his group of people so one group will go into the forest and go ahead and will flank the Spaniards and the other group goes straight at the Spaniards and fight them. A very well strategic plan by Henry Morgan but it was for nothing because the Spaniards were untrained and attacked head on which already the lost battle for them. The Spaniards went ahead and rushed the front line to be cut down by gun fire and to be finished off by the group who was flanking them from the forest. The Spaniards being untrained led them to lose a battle against Henry Morgan and his men. After the battle was done Henry Morgan and his men went ahead and looted and took booty that exceeded about a hundred thousand pounds. Morgan went ahead and told his men to burn down the city and massacre everyone that was living there. It was one of the most barbarous acts by a British pirate against Spanish colonies in the Americas.

Since Morgan decided to destroy panama and kill all the Spaniards in panama too. This led to him being arrested because he violated a treaty that was by England and Spain. So when he was arrested he remained in England because it was said that Morgan had no clue of the treaty that Spain and England had together he just went ahead and attacked because he thought that the Spaniards were bad people and he had to fight them for the land and all of their goods they had. Soon to find out that Morgan was actually telling the truth that he had no clue that England and Spain had a treaty together so they went ahead and let him go free and they knighted Morgan. Then to end all this off Morgan went ahead and went to Jamaica when he became the Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. Henry Morgan is a very Strategic person but still carries of the most barbarous act for an English pirate.
